Articular cartilage degeneration represents one of the main features osteoarthritis. Recently, novel approaches based on biomaterials have been successfully applied to osteochondral regeneration. Our study was carried out rabbits assess a model articular damage test for We created defects surface trochlear groove area femurs in 15 white male New Zealand size 3 mm × (diameter depth). Rabbits were then monitored and samples collected 2 weeks, 4 6 weeks after operation. The reconstruction assessed macroscopically according International Cartilage Repair Society (ICRS) scale radiography (X-ray). For microscopic evaluation, haematoxylin-eosin staining safranin O used. repaired by regenerative tissue, recovery results gradually increased showing both microscopically macroscopically. However, tissue mainly fibrous connective not or bone. This is that suitable early screening preclinical studies related regeneration using biomaterials.
